EBCCSP'2022 Conference

8th International Conference on Event-based Control,

Communication, and Signal Processing

Cracow, Poland, June 22-24, 2022

Mixed event

OVERVIEW

The past two decades have witness an upsurge in the scientific interest to harness the benefits of the event-based paradigm applied to a wide spectrum of engineering disciplines including control, communication, signal processing, and electronic instrumentation. The event-based systems, in which the system activities are triggered by events instead of progression of time, exhibit certain advantages over other approaches, such as time-triggered, for instance, in the resource-constrained applications. Specific application areas include energy-efficient control over wireless networks, energy-efficient clockless circuits and signal processing chains, bio-inspired computing architectures, or frame-free event-driven vision systems, to mention a few.

The 8th edition of the EBCCSP conference is back to Krakow, Poland. Krakow was the location of the first and second events in 2015 and 2016. Krakow has been ranked for years as one of the most attractive locations to visit in Europe. The venue of the Conference is the AGH University of Science and Technology, that is ranked the second top technical university in Poland.

The Nordic-Mediterranean Workshop on Time-to-Digital Converters and Applications (NoMe–TDC), that has been accompanying the Conference since the very first event, has been a major attraction. This year, technical program is going to be enriched by a new event. The Workshop on Event Sensing and Neuromorphic Engineering (NeuroEng). One of the major attractions of the 8th edition will be undoubtedly a special event: Event-based Systems in 2020s: Analysis and Forecast. It will have a format of a workshop/town hall meeting and is going to involve luminaries of event-based systems to mention Christos G. Cassandrass of Boston University and Panos Antsaklis of the University of Notre Dame.
